Shri Kalyanika Devasthanam Ashram (Dol Ashram) is a new attraction in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand that has recently gained popularity. Located near a village called Dol, this ashram lies en route to Almora via Dhanachuli from Bhimtal.
Baba Kalyan Das Ji, a native of Almora district in Uttarakhand, envisioned creating a space where seekers could immerse themselves in meditation without worry, surrounded by nature. This vision culminated in the construction of Dol Ashram, completed in 2018.
The ashram houses the world’s largest Tripura Sundari-shaped Shri Yantra, weighing approximately 1.5 tons, located inside the dome. The dome itself has the capacity to accommodate 500 individuals for meditation at the same time. Staying, eating, and practising yoga and meditation in the ashram is offered free of cost to ...

The temples within the ashram complex are constructed in the Odia style, reminiscent of the world-famous Jagannath Puri temple. Separate residences equipped with modern amenities are available for the saints, and there are guesthouses where visitors can stay for several days free of charge.
The ashram also hosts a Sanskrit school where Brahmin boys receive not only general education but also training in yoga, the Vedas, Puranas, and other scriptures. This education is provided to all Brahmin students without any fee.
Nestled in the dense forests of the Himalayas, the ashram offers complete solitude, allowing one to step away from the world and focus on self-realisation. If you have grown disillusioned with the material world and are eager to seek the truth, Dol Ashram provides both the environment and guidance for your journey.
A large gate near Dol village marks the entrance to Dol Ashram, located about 1 km inside the forest on the Kathgodam-Almora route via Bhimtal and Dhanachuli. It may take some time to find public transportation directly from the main road to the ashram.
Nearest Railway Station: You can get a train to Kathgodam or Haldwani, as from these stations you can get private taxis and other road transport to Dol Ashram with ease.
Nearest Airport: Get a flight to Pant Nagar Airport in Uttarakhand, which is nearest to the Dol Ashram. Private taxis are available to hire for Dol Ashram and other locations in the region. However, you need to reach Kathgodam if you wish to get a shared taxi or bus for your destination.
Buses and Shared Taxies: When you're outside the Kathgodam railway station, various local transport operators offer comfortable rides to Kainchi Dham, Dol Ashram, Almora, and other popular locations.
Drive Your Own Vehicle: If you're willing to drive your own vehicle to Dol Ashram, roads are excellent till the destination. However, it is recommended not to drive on hills if you don't have prior experience.
Tip: Experts recommend reaching Kathgodam by Ranikhet Express (15013) and getting into a shared taxi available just outside the railway station. If you're with family, prefer hiring a private cab to Dol Ashram.

The energy centre in the ashram allows practitioners to go deeper and sustain their focus longer. This well-established spiritual centre offers a supportive environment for seekers on their journeys of self-realisation or Kundalini awakening.
