Maa Vaishno Devi Dham: A Sacred Pilgrimage Nestled on Trikuta Mountains

The Vaishno Devi shrine holds immense significance for Hindus, dedicated to the divine mother, Mata Vaishno or Mata Vaishnavi. Numerous legends associated with this shrine trace back to the Treta Yuga, the second of the four yugas in Hindu cosmology.

According to Hindu scriptures, Goddesses Mahakali, Mahasaraswati, and Mahalakshmi collectively took birth as Vaishnavi. During the Treta Yuga, at Lord Rama's behest, she arrived at the Trikuta Mountains and established herself there in the form of a rock. Scriptures predict that in the Kali Yuga, the current era, when Lord Vishnu incarnated as Kalki to destroy evil, Mata Vaishnavi will be his consort.
